My Grandmother Jean’s Trick for that Natural Fresh Scent
Number of ingredients
level of DIFFICULTY
My grandmother Jean was a wise woman…as many grandmothers are. Looking back, I’m amazed at the number of tricks she used to solve her everyday problems that didn’t involve disposable products as an “easy” but wasteful solution. We call these tricks “hacks,” now, but to her it was just the way things were done. Now I see the beauty in her resourcefulness and the innate tendency toward a zero waste lifestyle, born out of need and tradition.
This Lavender & Lemon Dryer Ball Remedy let’s you skip all of the harmful fragrances in dryer sheets and fabric softeners, while eliminating the waste of those disposable sheets. The natural lavender scent will brighten your day, and may just bring back the fond memories of your “Grandma Jean”.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Organic Lemon Essential Oil (12 drops)

Step 1 • Blend 30 drops of Rooterra Organics Lavender Oil with 12 drops of Organic Lemon Essential Oil in a glass bowl.
Step 2 • Add 8-10 drops of the blend evenly distributed on each wool dryer ball with the dropper provided with every bottle of Rooterra Organics Essential Oils. We recommend two to four dryer balls for every load of laundry.
Step 3 • Throw the dryer balls in with clean your wet laundry. Run one dryer cycle.
Step 4 • Remove dry laundry, fluff and enjoy.
Step 5 • Store wool dryer balls to reuse for next laundry cycle.

It is important to use pure essential oils when adding scent to your dryer balls to avoid getting any oil stains on your clothes that you might get from using fragrance oils.
Its 100% worth it to invest in quality wool dryer balls that are felted by hand and ethically sourced so your dryer balls last for those 1,000 loads of laundry.
Prior to dryng, add 1/4 cup of baking soda to your wash cycle.
Why we believe it works
Wool dryer balls replace the need for dryer sheets and fabric softener. Most dryer sheets and fabric softeners contain artificial fragrances that harmful and known to cause respiratory problems.
They are also better for your clothes because they do not coat the fibers like traditional dryer cloths and fabric softeners, keeping your clothes cleaner. In addition to being a better health alternative, dryer balls reduce drying time, are biodegradable, and reusable (up to 1,000 loads of laundry).
